Signs and Symptoms of Acute Myelogenous Leukemia
Signs and symptoms of acute myelogenous leukemia (AML) include:
- Fatigue, weakness, and shortness of breath are by far the most common symptoms and are due to a decreased number of red blood cells (anemia).
- Frequent infections
- Bruising, bleeding (such as nosebleeds) or the development of small red spots on the skin called petechiae
- Bone or joint pain
- Swelling of the liver, spleen or lymph nodes
- Swelling, pain and bleeding of the gums
- Abnormal menstrual periods
