Diagnosis of Parkinson's Disease
Signs and Symptoms of Parkinson's Disease
Micrographia (progressively smaller handwriting) - this can appear at any stage though it often begins to develop before other symptoms of Parkinson's disease are noticeable.
The progression of symptoms in Young Onset Parkinson's Disease tends to be slower than for adult-onset Parkinson's disease. In addition, symptoms of Young Onset Parkinson's Disease, such as rigidity, bradykinesia, and dystonia (involuntary muscle spasms, often painful) usually begin symmetrically in the feet whereas the first symptoms of adult-onset Parkinson's disease are usually asymmetrical (occurring only on one side).
