Chronic obstructive pulmonary disease (COPD) usually occurs in people age 35 or older who are current or former smokers. Signs and symptoms of COPD include:
- Coughing
- Wheezing
- Tightness in the chest
- Sputum production
- Recurrent respiratory infections
- Impaired exercise tolerance
