- Approximately 30% of people with OCD also suffer from major depression
- About 50% of patients with OCD have had suicidal thoughts and about 12% have actually attempted suicide
- Most people with OCD reported having low self-esteem
- Alcohol abuse (18%) and drug abuse (13%) are also relatively common problems in people with OCD
