Cardiac Involvement in Scleroderma

Cardiac involvement is rare in scleroderma but patients should nevertheless be monitored to evaluate changes in heart rate and potential cardiac abnormalities. Early cardiac involvement usually carries a poor prognosis. Treatment of heart complications is usually the same as treatment for the same complications in non-scleroderma patients.
