Treatment Options for Vertigo
Watch and Wait Treatment for Vertigo
Since the nature of benign paroxysmal positional vertigo is such that it usually resolves on its own within several weeks, the first-line of treatment is waiting to see if the vertigo disappears. Physicians often recommend delaying treatment and encourage patients to avoid doing things which may precipitate episodes of vertigo (e.g., lying on the affected side and avoiding the provocative positions or movements that bring on a vertigo attack).
